Down or forward for "constant draft". '53 was last 8N. It has side mount distributor, dual axle seals etc. Older ones have front mount distributor. Search your serial number to learn what year it is.

Spoke with Harold at Affordable Tractor. He said the shutoff actuated a rod inside, that the governor box was to have 3-4 oz. of oil installed thru the breather on top of the box, nothing would go flying off when you pull the box off, there are no gaskets available nor shop manuals for these. Really good to find someone with experience on these. I'll post my experience here when we try it. Thanx again!
