Does anyone know how much weight can be held up on the front of a Long 520 2WD? I had 700 pounds (100#s from after market bumper/grille + 6 100#s weights). All four bolts went SNAP at once while disking. As far as I know the bolts were tight. The tractor was bouncing a little on the rough ground, but not that much. There appears to be no damage to the tractor. Anyway I really need to mount the weights back on and want to make sure not to over load it. <br>

I just got a Disk Harrow and stated to use it.<br>
I was suprised that it did not penierate that ground more than an inch or so. I increased the gang angle. Currently the tractor's 3 point is set to "position" control. Will changing the 3ph affect the depth of the disk?<br>

Thank you all! I have learned something and will find a CPA that knows farming. I think I'll go into the hobby farmer category but do I actually need to decide now in the first year? I think I can change at any time as long as the records are in order, though I may miss some deductions. If I can write off up to what I make that will be OK and that's what I could not find in the IRS doc 535.<br>

Does any know where I can find information on how to build a 3 point sprayer? I think the metal work will be easy enough, but I need information on the plumbing and pump parts. Thanks

I am currently building a basic pole barn. Almost ready for the metal siding. I really want to build a fairly large hoist that I can use to help load/unload trailer. I think I only need to left up to 2000 lbs. I Hope to find a way to make the cross arm swing in and out the barn door. If anyone has any ideas or other things to conside please let me know. Yes I think the correct term is 3-bottom moldboard.

I purchased a new Long "LongTrac" 520 in September, love that tractor! I understand they are now part of Escort tractors and may discontinue some of the LongTrac models next year. I read where the 680 is the only model that will pass evro. specs. Is any of this correct? I see that the web page I used to visit is now only for Dealers. But I have not been able to find any press releases on the web yet.

Looks like a lot a great advise from these experts. I have learn a lot from this thread! I really agree with "ccbbc", a storage building would be required at some point. I know when I trailered my tractor 200 miles when I bought it. My gas tank range in my F150 was cut by 1/3 (overdrive set to off). My equipment seems to be much like yours (4200# tractor plus a couple of implements). Anyway, you'll still need a trailer, but a storage shed may pay for itself in the long run (OK maybe very long run).
