Elystan, please let me know which island we are talking about, we work in the Bahamas quite a bit, and we keep some equipment down there since it is cheaper than shipping it back and forth constantly. I'm sure the boss would be willing to sell some of it, as he has done in the past.

You also didn't say if any new work was being considered, or if you were just looking to accomplish routine turf maintenance.

I do not know if they are the same, but there is a brand new hood for 1520 for sale in a bargain paper in Toronto, Canada for ($275 Canadian) about $175 here is the ad.

I'm not sure if you would want to drive 500 miles for it, but they might be willing to ship it, if it is much less than dealer pricing it might be worth looking into.

We use both big trailer type chippers and the 3 pth kind. In the spring or fall when it gets muddy the knives will not last even one day of chipping without sharpening if the branches have been dragged through the dirt on the way to the chipper. The knives in a chipper are basically just big chisels. There is another kind of machine we use for stumps, it is called a tub grinder, it is a big nasty affair that swallows stumps whole including all the dirt and rocks still included without missing a beat. It is fairly expensive though but I understand there are many people who use and rent them for land clearing and so on. Look in the yellow pages under land clearing or stump removal.

Let me begin by way of an introduction, my name is John and I am the GM of Operations for a group of companies, owned & operated by a member of this group, "Murf".

I have been receiving many e-mails from his "e-friends" the last few months because of his disappearance from this, as well as several other user-group boards.

Unfortunately, I am the bearer of bad news, late last fall while away hunting at the family hunt camp, Murf suffered a massive heart attack.

The situation was made even worse by the fact that it occured while he was out in the bush, alone on a deer stand. He was discovered some time later by another person in the group when he failed to respond to radio calls. He was several hours from medical assistance even after he was found. He has been in a convalescent center since just before Christmas, and is due to go home very soon, to recuperate there for several more months.

He has been asking for a laptop so he could get on-line for some time, however they are not allowed in the hospital, so he has had myself, and other members of the staff, dropping in here to make reports to him on the goings-on here. He asked me to explain his absence so as not to offend you, his friends, by his absence.

I'm sure he will be back with you all here in short order.
