I would try a limited slip additive in the hydraulic oil to quiet the brakes. Probably not a good idea to put the additive in until the next oil change.

Your dealer is not correct. The 87300195 filter is no longer available. It has been purged from parts and the dealers cannot get them anymore. The only 87300195 filters remaining are those that are on the dealers shelves.

The tractors are shipped from the supplier with their own HST filter, SBA340500890. This filter will work in almost all situations, except the colder places in Canada where cold weather filter SBA340500980.

The dealer was not completely misleading you when saying that the fault did not lie with the 87300195 filter. The filter is specified to handle the pressure rating of the HST charge system. The relief valve just happens to be downstream from the filter, filter head and oil cooler. The added pressure drops through these elements are what the filter seal cannot handle.

I'd make sure that all is well with the glow plugs. Make sure you give them time to warm up. Cycling the glow plugs several times before starting the tractor will usually yield better results.<br>

When starting (or attempting to start) the machine the fuel pump is delivering max fuel to get the cylinders. The unit returns flow to a normal setting when the governor kicks in as engine turns over. The black smoke is all of the unburned, excess fuel that was in the system.

The PTO lever arm that comes out of the transmission housing has an adjustment bolt. Set the length of the bolt so that the PTO control lever has no resistance until 50% of travel between the two lock positions.

You can probably adjust the lever a little tighter but you do not want to have the lever engaging less than 40% of the lever travel.

Compacts are built in Japan and assembled (some bells and whistles) in Georgia.

The plant in question does not make all 120+ HP NH tractors. In fact, most of NH's 120+ HP tractors are made in Basildon, England.
