Howdy all, I was wondering if I could get some help. My Yanmar 276d is stuck in 4wd. I tried all the regular drive line bind tricks. There seems to be an excessive amount of plan in the 4wd lever, I can pretty much pull it back to the housing without disengaging. Any thoughts? What parts should be replace the remove all the slop from the selector? Many thanks,Pete

Sounds like you have sheared a pin or key somewhere in the 4wd linkage. Start by looking at the lever connection to the shaft. If thats not it its going to be a problem inside the transmission. For more detailed info contact us. we can fax you a parts breakdown if need. Affordable Equipment 864-859-2623 ....

My 336D did the same thing this weekend. On mine it turned out to be a loose pin where the hand lever attaches to the shaft. A five-minute fix for me...Hope you are so lucky. I've heard that some need a new retaining clip where the shaft enters the transmission housing and slides a collar back and forth to engage/disengage 4wd. From what I have been told, the work can be done simply by removing an inspection cover - but I haven't had the need to try it. Roger ....
