I rented a 4600 tractor a few years ago with a 48 backhoe on it. I was just looking at Bush Hog backhoes and swear that the JD 48 was a green version of one of their backhoes. Does anyone know if this is true or not? When I had the 4600 / 48 combo, one of swedges for the hydraulic lines pulled out. The machine had less than 20 hours on it. Are hydraulic lines a problem on the 48? They were actually marked as John Deere lines.

I don't know if bush hog and Deere hoes are the same machine. I bought a #48 hoe for a 4300 I had, then changed it over to a 4310 just last winter. We do use it a lot,in fact we never take it off the tractor. It's never given us any trouble of any kind, we just grease it acording to the book and keep on diging. Frank. ....
