I would like to use the front PTO on a LK 3054 with an electric clutch with two belts type set up driving a sweepster broom. I would appreciate advice on this because I don't want to damage the crankshaft end due to warranty considerations ( only has 50 hrs.)and I'm not sure how strong the splines are on the pulley. I had a set up along this line on a Kubota but there were fiber links to take the shock. That doesn't appear to be an option on this tractor because there is no room to put them on. I welcome your advice.

I'd sure check with a dealer regarding the warranty. I assume the front pulley is intended to serve as a PTO point rather than just something added on to a fan or alternator drive. If so, a clip clutch or appropriate shear pin may protect the drive. It might be possible to set up a clutch to also provide driveline protection. Some pulleys and light gear drives are keyed rather than splined onto shafts. A decent assumption might be that the keys would break before the drivelines but I'd sure want to verify these kinds of ideas before doing any of them. ....

Thanks Tom for your input. I tried to get a a service rep at Kioti USA to respond but he hasn't yet. I was warned also that damage in this area would void the engine warranty so maybe I'll forget it, but dag nab it they advertise a front PTO. Oh well I'll get over it. ....

You'd think Kioti would respond. Dang, if they provide a feature they could at least spec torque limits for the drive that are consistent with the warranty. Well, maybe they sell proprietary gadgets that are specifically engineered for it and don't any after-market attachments. Maybe they depend on particularly engineered belt drives to protect the engine. Maybe they're concerned about the possibility of something unbalancing the crank--who knows? It would be aggravating to have a feature and not being able to find out what can go on it.

I wonder if it'd be possible to rig up a ground driven sweeper, but getting sweeper speed that's independent of ground speed might be tricky? ....
