Hello All!!!

Im looking at a B7410DT with a FEL LA272... Gear shift Model
with a price of $9995.00...plus ohio tax... is this a good price??? I have an acre that I need to get in shape... I own 10 acres in Southern Ohio... I just want this for the current home acre... I can sell or trade if I ever need a bigger tractor I guess...

If your going to buy a tractor for a loader only machine than the B7410 is not a good idea. My dealer won't even sell you a B7410 with a loader. You need a B7510 because it has power steering. With any weight in the bucket you couldn't can't turn the steering wheel if your not moving. The B7510 has both a gear and a hydro model. The gear version is not much of a price difference over the B7410. Or look a BX series. You will be very unhappy with its performance while using the loader. Also look at the LA302 loader, is only a little more but you get a grill gaurd and a heavier lift capacity. ....

i-g-b-green makes a good point. I was loking for a more basic machine that would tow-around a few items but primarily FEL work. As you know a geared will be just groovy for long-time intervals of pulling a mower or possible tiller. But if you do not want to become frustrated go to the next step and get power steering and definately the LA302 over the LA272. The capacity is just a touch more but it comes with a very nice brush guard assembly for front.
Another issue for me was something that the wife could use to move horse poop (equine #2)around. This frees up a little time for me to play some golf. We have just 5 acres but also have streams and ponds on our property. Equine-2 management is very important.

ps- the wife is from (giant)farm in Ohio, Milford Center, 30 minutes north of Columbus outside Marysville.

have fun, good luck
-ao ....

That grill guard comes in handy. I already saved the hood, head lights, and grill a couple of times. I had a 8 inch thick log come rolling down off a pile of brush and BAM hit the guard. Didn't even scrape the paint. That whole front runs $600. Happened to a friend's tractor. ....
