I am in the market for a new Kubota tractor, 4WD, HST, in the 30 HP range plus or minus. I will use it to run a front end loader (to be purchased with tractor) for moving gravel, cleaning out the feed yard, running a 5 to 6' rotory mower (brush hog type) both in a 12 ac. field and in a 3 ac. wooded lot that has about a 5% slope, blading a 1/4 mile gravel driveway that has a 12% grade on about 1/3 of it. Also I plan on a 4 disk hay mower, using my small 3 pt. side delivery rake and towing a case bailer (which is self driven by a motor mounted on it). Would a B2710/2910 work or should I go with an L3130/3430 ,L3830 or an MX or M series (if the MX or M series have HST??), are there others than I'm not aware of? Which would be best? Am I in the ball park with my 30 HP estimate given the equipment I want to run? Right now I suffer with my 8N so I know any of these are infinately better than it.

Thanks for you're input.

When it comes to a baler, no I wouldn't even think of a B-series to do it. If you want the hydro, Kubota builds the 5030 which is the largest horsepower hydro built at this time. Definitly you need at least an L-series, in the fact that the weight of the baler will be larger yet when full of hay. Balers do tend to lunge with the plunger and the added weight will help. A 6' brush hog would also require the stability of the L-series Kubota tractors of coarse on the 5030 we have put the 84T bush-hog Squealer on and had good success. ....
