I'm facing the choice that many out there seem to have faced: JD 4100 orK 2100/2400 (probably 2400). The postings on this board have been very in-formative, but I'm still at an impasse. I feel that the JD would be the more convenient because of the easy on and off of the implements (I intendto use both loader and midmower and likely a snowblower too)and because of the positioning of the controls. On the other hand, with the 2400, I could get substantially more hp in a somewhat smaller package and probably better resale value because of the backhoe capability. Unfortunately, all of these items are important to me. SO, I'll probably make my decision on the basis of the dealer rather than the machine. I live about 30 miles SW of Boston. The local Deere dealer is 1A Equipment Company in Norfolk, MA, and the Kubota dealer is Norfolk Power Equipment almost next door to 1A in Wrentham, MA. Does anyone have experience with these dealers?

Based on your comments, I'd vote for the Kubota. You will not be taking that loader on and off nearly as often as you think that you will. I know nothing atall about the two dealers. I'd ask the dealer for a customer list. Roger L ....

Pick the one you want, but.....your right about easy on easy off. I have a 770 fwd with a loader, mower deck, and a few other attachments and if you arelike me the loader goes on and off alot. Especailly in the summer when the mower deck is on and I need to do a quick landscaping job. There is a 100 jobs in the summer for the loader but I perfer not mow with it on. I canput it on or take it off in less than a minute. My father is over 60 yearsold and doesn't think twice about it either, thats how easy it is. Sorry,no help with the dealers.Randy ....
