Flail mowers what size

I wish to buy a flail mower in the not to distant future and have a few questions before I lay out some cash.I already have a 6' Luck Now rotary cutter (brush hog) mounted on my NH 3930, however it seems a little slow and most of the time cumbersome around the house, drive shed and various out buildings.Im cutting mostly hay field type material with a couple of berry canes mixed in on the fieldedges.I want to mount a flail mower on primarily my NH 1720 (23.5 PTO hp) and occasionaly on the NH 3930 (45 PTO hp).The New Holland sales flyer recomends a 71" flail mower on the high end for the NH1720 . Would this be pushing the compact tractor to the limit?I have no expierence with flail mowers so I don't know how much hp they gobble up.I would also like to know if a flail mower would be faster in comparison to the rotary as far as time wise (7.5 acres)?.An expierenced thoughts would be appreciated.
