They are both early 80's. The YM2301D is the older of the 2.

Bruce is correct on the years of course. The 02 model will have wet disc brakes and an external spin-on hydraulic filter in addition to the screen in the sump. Those are nice features, but condition is probably the biggest factor in chosing between the two. ....
