I recently was talking to my dealer about the frequency at which I need to change engine and hydraulic oil on my JD4600. The manual says engine oil and filter and hydraulic filter every 200 hours. Hydraulic fluid to be changed every 400 hours. The dealer says that the engine oil and filter should be changed every 100 hours and the hydraulic filter and fluid evry 200 hours. So which do I believe? I would like to be taking care of my machine properly, but not wasting my time and money. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

Dan,

I say you are right! I have a 4610 and my manual is with yours. If you don't put 200 hours a year on the tractor, I would change the engine oil and filter once a year.

Billy ....

Good call Billy, thats how I like it. Might, depending on the use might want to look at the filter on the transmission to at the end of the year. You won't help it for condinsation other than whats in the filter but you don't want to starve a hydro for oil no matter what! ....
