I hear people say to change to a synthetic oil to eleveate cold weather noise but when I am hearing this noise is it harmful to the tramnsmission or anythingelse. Or is it simply to get away from the anoying noise and general sluggeshness?

I don't think I'd worry too much about noise but I'd check what a dealer recommends for your area. Synthetics do tend to have better cold weather characteristics. It gets cold here and my dealer recommends a multi-season hydraulic/TX oil but I don't believe it's fair to call it an actual synthetic.

It's is good to give the tractor a good warm up before working it in cold weather. Even after the oil is warmed up through operation, on very cold days if I haven't used the loader in 15 minutes or so, oil in the cylinders cools down and the loader lowers in slow-motion when put in float until warm oil get back into the cylinders. If I expect to use the tractor in very cold weather, I put a couple of magnetic heater on the bottom TX cases overnight. I'm not sure if they actually keep the oil warmer or not but I use them anyway.
