I am looking for an estimated value on a 1979 International Tractor Model 1486, Diesel, 2WD, Full cab with air, radio, 40% rubber in good condition. OR can anyone direct me where I might get this information. Please email me at kdrown@tds.net

Bob if you have the real hours it would help. It is hard to tell with out knowing that info as western tracotrs of that vintage could easily be in excess of 20,000. Should be between 10 and 20 depending on the above and condition. ....

If your tractor apperance is on a scale of 1 to 10 a 7 and the cab according you would find it to be a 12000 to 15000 tractor. There are many of these tractors already in the east from the west. They normally put about 12000 to 13000 hours on them and then bring them east. They actually look like our 2000 to 3000 hour tractors at that time. Yours could be one unless you know the history of it. ....

Those model Internationals are a dime a dozen down here in Louisiana, but most of them have been used in the sugar cane fields. The 86 series is noted for problems with shifting so check out and see how much slack is the shift. Hope this helps......... ....
