I currently have a 990 Deere and am using a 30 year old Woods M5 rotary cutter. I would like to upgrade to a 6 foot model. I cut over some rough terrain, and want something heavier than the light duty stuff that everyone sells. I have been considering the medium duty Woods 720 and the Deere MX6. Leaning towards the MX6 because it has a dual tail wheel option, which could have come in handy in the past. Anyone have any experience with either cutter or have other recommendations? Thanks!

I had a 990 with a jd 613 hog, sold the 990 kept the 613 I like the finer mowing of the 613. a friend of mine just bought a 990 with a mx-6 and he keeps it here it has the power to run it and it cuts good. I like them both, dont forget front chains and maybe rear thats a $500 option here.Good luck ....

Thanks for the cutter input. Chains a $500 option?? Seems excessive to me. I believe they are included in the base price in the ones I've seen, with a credit if you chose to go without them. I think I was quoted $2100 for an MX6 with dual tail wheel option and chains. Slip clutch is also standard. ....
