hello all, there is a implement place very close to me that has howse rotary mowers on sale. there price on a 5ft 40hp gearbox is 440.00 but if you bring there ad in from the newspaper they will give you another 10% off! =396.00!(+tax 6%). so do you thing its worth it or should i spend 175.00+ for a kingkutter or other brand. it will be used at first on some pretty rough stuff 1-2 inch but after that first cut it would be "probably" used on pasture grass.

Mark, I've had a Bush Hog 4' SQ model in the past, and I now have a 5' Howse. I'm satisfied with my Howse because it's all I need now, but it certainly is not the quality of a Bush Hog (of course not nearly as expensive to buy either). I'd say if you only have 1" stuff to cut, go for the Howse; 2" better spend the money for the Bush Hog. ....
