Is there a definitive way to varify what year a particular Boomer is on the tractor itself or does the serial number have to be run?

Traditionally, ag machinery is considered to be whatever year that it was sold - not when it was built. It wouldn't be all that unusual for someone to make a series of a thousand tractors one year and sell them over the next howevermany years. They would be new when sold. Design changes are typically running changes made during a model run and referenced by serial number. With an up to date parts book, you can look at the design changes on a tractor that you are considering and make a decision that way. At first it fooled me becuse tractors aren't "yeared" like cars with their distinct year/model changes. In fact, the better the tractor the longer you will see it in production with few changes year to year...and the harder it will be to tell what year it was sold. Conversely, a tractor can be an excellent one, but if it is only produced for a few years the rural community will view it with suspicion for decades. ....
