I've just put 25 hours on my L3010 with FEL and backhoe, and am wondering about the upcoming 50 hour service. I've read some posts about people doing this themselves, but has anyone had a dealer come out to do it? If so what did they charge for labor and materials. On a similar topic, who pays for what, if something breaks down with a tractor still under warranty. Does this work like a car warranty and service? Thanks ... Frank

I believe most dealers have travelling mechanics, but travel time is paid. It's kind of a trade off, but I suspect that most times it's cheaper to get the tractor to the dealer. The situation might be different for people who have heavy farm tractors and have to hire out the hauling. Don't know about tractor warranty work, but I'd be surprised if the owner wasn't responsible for transportation to the dealer. ....

My NH TC18 just passed that interval recently. The dealer came out to do the 50-hour service interval "free" -- meaning that I didn't pay for the service call or hourly labor, but I did pay for the filters and fluids. I reviewed the Operators Manual ahead of time, and also watched the whole process and asked questions. The result is that the dealer has now taught me the normal service process and I feel comfortable doing it myself if I want to. I have to say, it's awfully convenient having the dealer's service tech come and do it for me, but I suspect the cost of the service call is more than I want to pay for that convenience! ....

Frank, when you got the tractor, the dealer should have given you documentation explaining the warranty. Some dealers may include the 50 hour service in the sale price, but I don't that's the "normal" situation. Under Kubota's warranty, the owner is responsible for getting the tractor to and from the dealership. ....
