I read the earlier post for the 35w and 50w bulbs for the B series Kubota. Which have you used and which seems to be the best answer?

I think B-Kubotas have a 10A auxiliary circuit that can be used for work lights. Two 55-watt lights draw about 8.3A, which can be run from a 10A circuit. Either 55's or 35's would work, but I figure that if I'm going to the trouble, I might as well get as much light as I can. I wired two 55W lights directly from the battery on my Ford. If it's a question of replacing the existing headlight bulbs with stronger ones, I heard a caution about the possibility of larger bulbs melting the headlight assembly. However, I've heard it raised as a possibility, and I haven't heard anybody say that it would actually happen. Even so, the existing lighting circuit probably wouldn't carry a much larger load. From a wiring diagram, it would be a good idea to figure the total load on the lighting circuit to determine if the fuse would carry larger bulbs. The formula for getting amps from watts is to divide watts by 12 (the battery voltage). The amps for existing lights could be calculated as well as for new lights. The difference between them would be the increased load. It's good if the load on a 10-amp circuit doesn't exceed 8.5 amps or so, or the fuse may blow periodically during normal operation. Replacing a fuse with a larger one is dangerous and is not an option. ....

After reading the same post, I went out and purchased a couple of the 55 watt bulbs. The bulbs are inexpensive and easy to replace. Have been using the bulbs for about 1/2 year now and no heat problems. Helped me out as I frequently mow until late dusk, but still not that bright. I have been wondering about the 55 watt halogens. I noticed they do make 55 watt halogen bulbs which appear would fit my B2400. Haven't tried these as they are more costly, (around $8/ea), and my #1 concern would probably burn too hot for plastic around them. Anyone else tried the 55 watt halogens?
