BE AFRAID! Be VERY afraid! Cheap Chinese imports, inferior castings, may have non-standard PTO speed and direction, non-existent service and parts availablilty, lacks most US-mandated safety devices, makes a Yugo look reliable. ....

Jeff,
What Paul is saying has been largely true in the past. Past history for Chinese tractors has not been good until now. The Agracat is changing this history. This tractor has three similar versions. The Hobby Horse, the Nortrack and the Agracat. I say similar because the Agricat was first imported in I believe May 2000. Since then that specific version has under gone a large amount of refinement. Each new shipment has had improvements incorporated into the tractors. The reason that Agracat can do this and the other can’t is because of their volume. They were importing as of approx. 5-2000, and in that 8-month time span in year 2000, Agracat received approx. 70% of the tractors that were imported here for that year. Several hundred Agracats have been sold through the U.S. Approximately 40 dealer are now located in the United States and more being added daily. They do have a large supply of parts if needed and can ship very quickly. So far they have proved to be very dependable and they ARE built to ISO standards. You can look up the Agracat at http://www.chinadepot.com/agracatmain.html
I will warn you that I don’t like their web site but you can get the information that you need. You can call the U. S distributor at (501) 267-5948. By the way I believe that they have a 30 something horse one in shipment right now that no one else has. And no I don’t work for them before anyone says that I do. I do know the two brothers that are Agracat and have for about 16 years.

I don't know anything about the tractors or quality of them, so I won't comment on that! But, what I did notice, and would turn me away, no matter how the low the price is the one year parts only warantee. I saw that in the last catalog I got from Northern. Does not mean the tractor is junk, it just means you have to pay for repairs. That makes me like my 2yr Bucket to 3pt warantee(even though I didn't really use/need it). ....
