I recently bought a YM2610 (Approx 1980, 3 cyl, powershift, 26-33 hp). I've heard various HP ratings for this model. Does anyone know the true PTO or engine HP? Also, does anyone out there know if this model crosses over to an American market Yanmar? Are user and service manual available?

The closest cross to the ym2610 is the ym336, which is rated at 33 engine hp. I'm a Yanamr dealer & have manuals for them . Feel free to contact me at sheaftractor@coiinc.com or 815-284-3226. ....

You could go to the Yanmar club on Yahoo for specific information on these tractors. Although I know Yanmars fairly will, I don't know much about the gray market versions. I do have a YM336D if that helps. ....

yanmar model numbers tell a lot about the tractor: the first 2 numbers are the pto horsepower, since everywhere but america they don't bother with engine hp, that translates to 26 pto hp for you. The second 2 numbers show the generation and transmission. the 10 on your 2610 means it is a second generation of their thousand series, and therefore has the "powershift" sychro transmission. the presence of a D at the end means mfwd. a B would mean the second version of the same generation. if they could have only worked the production year in there... incidently, the 2610 was built from 79 to 81. ....
