I just bought a diesel four wheel drive JD 650 with loader, tiller, and grooming mower for work around my home. The guy who sold it to me was not very specific about how old it is, and how much horsepower it generates. I am also going to replace the bar tires with floatation tires to minimize the ruts in my soft soil (Saratoga, California- Silicon Valley). I found a set of "take-off" Goodyear terra tires for the rear in 31x15.5x15 from my local dealer for $200. The wheels are for a JD 670, but it looks like I can make 1.5 inch thick adapter plates that will correct for both offset and bolt pattern. The front size should be 23x8.5x12. What choice in tires do I have? I'd like something with more tread than a standard turf tire. I found the Firestone Floation 23 in this size, but it's only 2-ply. Is this adequate for use with the loader? Other than that, I've only found the standard turf tires like the Firestone Turf & Field- but that's a 4-ply, so it sounds better to me. Does anybody know of any other choices? Thanks in advance for any advice....Gene Zierdt

FYI: The JD 750's were made/sold from '81 to '88, so the 650 is most likely right in line with that timeframe.Good luck finding the right set of front tires for yours.....Keith ....
