I just recieved a Buck Top canopy(and console) for the JD 4400,made by firebird fiberglass in Arizona, supposedly the foldable roll bar calls for a custom made canopy because the roll bar is slightly higher than a non- foldable. The Buck Top has a raised place in the back that fits down over the roll bar so the canopy wont be so high up and thus providing better coverage for the operator.Who else has one of these?Any comments?

How easy are they to put on and remove. When I cut trail, there are a lot of low trees that will make short work of the canopy. I think that I may have to go with an umbrella type. ....

They are easy to put on,there are 4 bolts that go through the canopy itself, most of the bolts are on the stringers and u bolts that mount to the roll bar. How much time would you have in trimming those branches and limbs back with your a chainsaw? I always hated to have to have the branches and limbs slapping me in the face. ....

I have a Buck Top on a JD 4300 w/ foldable ROPS. It is painted to match the tractor so it looks good. It fits about right to give you plenty of room to get on and off and still privide shade. I almost didn't get a canopy but after spending a bunch of hours on the tractor this summer I'm sure glad I got it. I think I paid $375. I don't remember if that included shipping or not. I think their is 8 bolts to put on. With somebody to hold it in place while you tightened the bolts, it might take 30 minutes to unbox and install it. I can fold it back and put it back up by myself so it isn't too heavy. I would not want to operate the tractor with it folded back. ....

Eddie--Would it be possible to flip the foldable ROPS (with the canopy attached) on your 4300 back over with the canopy ending up upside down and sticking out behind the tractor?? I ask this because I must fold my ROPS down in order to get the tractor in its garage. Also--is there a Web site for the manufacturer of these canopies? Thanks... Mike S. ....

Mike, Yes you can fold it back and get it in a regular garage door. That's about the only time I fold mine is when I put my tractor in my garage at the house. I pull the pins and fold the ROPS and canopy back then reinsert the pins in the folded position. That keeps the canopy from resting on the fenders and rubbing or putting pressure on the canopy. It give me about 1" clearance between the fenders and the canopy. ....
