John Deere 301A Engine Oil Type And Filter

I recently bought a 1971 John Deere 301A and I cannot find any info on the preferred oil type and the oil filter I need. Thanks for any ideas.

Most engines will do fine with 10W30, some take the old filter in to a parts counter to look for a match on threads and size, but that is an imperfect science at best but better than nothing. ....
