Only my second time trying the JD 990 inherited recently. The left brake is depressed (but not the right) and the parking brake will not disengage. The instruction manual says I need to fully depress the brakes, but it still doesn't work.

Is the return spring broken? Many times when they won't release either the spring is broken or there is some corrosion. Penetrating oil is then your friend. ....

Hope your Spring is working correctly! ;-) in my John Deere 6110B same problem was there ....
