I have an opportunity to purchase a JD 850, 2WD 1980 tractor with 354 hrs. It is currently running on only 1 cylinder but the seller will fix this before selling it to me. This tractor has been stored out in the rain and is not the prettiest around. It comes with a tiller, disc and 2 blades (all pretty rusted)Any thoughts on what it is worth and whether this is a fair price?Thanks is advance!

I don't know much about the price of a JD850 in poor condition as you are describing. I do know that the 850 is a gear tractor vs. an 855 hydrostatic transmission. 2wd is a less than desireable trait in compact utility tractors.
Considering the condition of the tractor, gear drive and condition of the impliments I would not make the purchase at that price. I would not make that purchase.
