I have a Kubota model l225dt tractor manufactured in 1974. I want to change the oil in the common reservoir for hydraulic/transmission system. The owners manual calls for SAE 80 oil for this. I was told that I should use the Kubota UDT hydraulic fluid when I do this. Should I use this or stick with the original specifications using the SAE 80 if it is still available.
I have a loader attachment with this tractor and also I live in N.H. which has a cold climate in the winter. Does this have any bearing on this decision?

Mike, most people with the grey market tractors that have put loaders on soon get rid of them for the same reason you might enjoy the thinner oil. You could try the UDT non-super which is a little thicker then the super. What possibly you will wind up with is leaks. Try some generic hydraulic oil so you won't miss much $$ if it doesn't work. ....
