I just purchased a JD755 (1990) with loader and 60" belly mower. I have a 600 foot hard packed gravel drive to keep clear of snow in the winter. I will try using the loader bucket, but am wondering what snowblowers work on the JD755 (either front or rear mount). Any advice out there?

There are two front mounted/front PTO drive snow blowers made by JD which will work with your 755. I have used the smaller 47" 2 stage blower since 1994 on my JD755. I would recommend the larger 59" 2 stage blower. JD sells a Front PTO kit which connects the MID PTO to the blower. The system is rugged and works well for the snows here in Little League Country.
I will miss the front PTO blower which not available for my new JD4700.
BTW: rear mounted blowers cause a pain in the neck.

You may want to consider a 6 ft. blade. I use one on the 3 point on my 855,for plowing my driveway and then do the cleanup with the front end loader. I've thought about getting a snowblower but they are expensive and I couldn't justify it. ....

Thanks Tony and Scott. I am new to the tractor game, so I may ask some dumb questions. For instance, Scott, do you pull that 6 foot blade or push it backwards? Can you adjust the angle? Tony, are rear mounted (3 point hitch) snow blowers less expensive and are there other brands besides JD that I should consider to make it more affordable? ....

In my area, snow don't usally get very deep. my front blade works very well and fast.8" or less is the most we get at once, normally 3" to 6". If it was deeper like 12" or more I don't think a front blade would be the tool of choice since it would push it over the top of the blade. ....

I push with the blade, although it can be pulled. But then you're plowing the snow you just packed down. I use the blade in the summer for grading the gravel by pulling it. The angle can be adjusted to plow to either side or straight on. ....

There are several companies that make rear PTO driven snow blowers. Try a Internet search, (I prefer Google.com).
I recommend a loader snow blade with overload springs such as the Curtis design at www.curtiscab.com.
The main advantage of a snow blower is that the snow is discharged far enough away from the driveway or walkway that it does not have to be moved again.
Also, I used my snowblower to clear large amounts of snow without the use of chains.

If you search the archives, you should find several hours of reading and come up with most information you need. You should pay particular attention to the use of all types of equipment on gravel.
Regarding 3ph blowers: There are large welding shops that make 3ph blowers in many areas. These shops serve local markets and probably do not have web sites. However, I believe some smaller companies can be found on equipment-net type sites. My dealer located a 'no name' blower for me as part of my original purchase package. I think a good dealer should be able to recommend decent alternatives to their own, or 'name-brand' items.
My own 'no-name' blower has done the job for me (actually it's called a 'Meteor'). I believe all machined and hydraulic parts on the blower are OEM or mass-market items so getting parts for this type of equipment shouldn't be a problem, and the initial price was pretty good.

I want to thank everyone who responded to my post. This is a great forum! I have been "reading the mail" for about 6 months and learned a lot. With regard to snow removal, I now know what my options are will do a little more research on blowers versus loader blades before making the plunge. Thanks to all! ....
