Does anybody out there have a "Lewis" loader or backhoe produced in the UK. I believe that "Woods" do one that is produced in the US. Are they any good compared to the Lewis?

Sorry for jumping in, I do not have any Woods equipment but would like to know what compacts are popular in the UK? What is the preferred brand, if such a thing? ....

Sorry for taking so long. The number one brand was Kubota but I have a feeling that it is probably JD now. N/H do not try very hard and see it as a low hassle market, by this I mean they ask the dealers in the back end of the year what tractors they require for the following season and then order those tractors. If the dealers do not have the machine that the customer requires then they know that they are unlikley to get it. Therefore New Holland have a no risk compact tractor business in the UK. If they pulled thier finger out they could with the product range avialable in the US become number one. The UK dealers find it very frustrating that the UK range is so limited. The diversity of the tractor market is growing considerably with such manufacturers as Landini, Ferrari, Carraro, TYM, Eurotrac, Jinma, Same and many others joining in the fray. ....
