I bought a used Kubota F 2560 front deck mower [10 years old 2500 hours] 5 months ago. It all seems to be in reasonable condition for its age. I really like it and think it is a well designed and built machine.
I have sorted out various issues with it, but one thing about it still bothers me and that is the way I get increased resistance in the transmission control pedal when the transmission comes under greater pressure e.g. when going uphill. Similarly the 'cruise' control lever has to be held under such circumstances or it will shift and the machine will slow down.
Does anyone else have experience of this?
Is it a 'problem'?
What is the cause?
How expensive is the solution?

That is normal for the petal to get harder when under load. This is a mechanical linkage so you will get some feed back.
The cruise lever, I'd check to see if the lever could be tightened at the pivot for more resistance. ....
