I am interested in installing a front pump, because my loader on my L245-DT operates too slow. I called several dealers in my area with no results. I have seen them on these tractors is this something that needs to be cobbled together or is there a kit that is available. Anybody know?

I haven't heard of such a thing, but that doesn't mean much. I think getting mechanical power to the front of the engine could be a problem, although I have heard of some engines where a drive comes off the front of the crank. I also recall some comment about mounting an aux alternator and driving a pump electrically. That also sounds like a lot of work.

A PTO pump would work, but I guess you don't want to sacrifice the PTO to a pump. However, for all I know maybe a pump is available where the PTO shaft continues out the back. The PTO and loader probably wouldn't be used at the same time. Something like that sounds easier to put together than a drive off the front of the engine. Kits are available to run a PTO forward, but it probably would be easier to run hydraulic lines from a PTO pump to the loader spooling valve inlet.

The simplest way might be to sacrifice some loader capacity and put smaller cylinders on the loader.

My father-in-law's 18hp Satoh has an aftermarket front loader that has the pump driven off of the front of the crank. My old Massey 40 industrial loader also had one. ....
