Does anyone have any experience with Japanese or Yanmar frontend loaders that are the quick disconnect type? Are there any advantages or disadvantages of this type loader versus the ones I normally see sold here in the US? Any differences in the capabilities? Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

The US loaders are a lot better than the Japanese loaders I've seen. Many of them are of the bent tube design last used on US tractors in the 50's. No down pressure with narrow buckets. The good bucket width to weight ratio means even though they don't have down pressure you can do a decent job of digging with them. ....

It is confusing that most of the Japanese tractors were and still are fitted with US made loaders. Sometimes these loaders are contracted by the tractor company but made to US designs. The original Yanmar-brand loaders were US made, quick disconnect, and real good quality. Like Len says, the Japanese-made loaders that sometimes come on the gray market tractors are not as good. So you need to draw a distinction between US loaders on gray market tractors (good) and the gray market loaders - which are better than they used to be, but still not as good as the US loaders. ....
