After spending a lot of time looking at low end commercial lawn tractors and high end residentials, I have settled on a ZTR from either Encore (Z52) or the Toro Z100 (52" deck on either). New, I am looking at $5300 to $6100 for each respectively. In the process of looking around for the best price on the mowers, I found a website called Alamia.com that allows you to purchase a limited selection of residential and professional grade lawn and garden equipment at reduced rates. They carry Scag and some others in addition to Encore and Toro. Pretty cool and free shipping on big ticket items. Here are the questions:-Has anyone dealt with Alamia.com before? How was their service/turnaround on orders? My blood runs a little cold when I think about shooting $5-$6K off to an Internet site without know anything more about it...-Second, does anyone have any experience with an Encore Z series?Any thoughts appreciated

I have a friend that just bought a scag mower from them, it came in a crate so there was some assembly on his part(lower cost).
He saved about $1200 over buying it local, lower price and no tax. The battery on his machine did not come with the acid in so the mower would not start. If you somewhat mechanicle you could easily save a $1000. When was the last time you took a mower to the shop to be serviced? If it was just this spring you may not want to do this, but your warranty should be valid anywhere for the first 1-2 years. Overall he seems to be pretty satisfied. ....
