Well I just got a 855 with 350hrs on it. when you stop (remove your foot off the hdro pedel) it will creep forward & backwards aswell, I can't find a spot that it will stand still, does any one have any idea's? my 755 never have this problem, this could be dangerous!

This is not an uncommon problem. Your dealer can make an adjustment to the transmission that should take no more than 10 minutes and can be done in the field. Actually, you can probably do it yourself. JD recommends having the problem fixed ASAP due to safety issues. ....

Well I took 855 to my local jd dealer & told them about THE PROBLEM, When I returned the mechic told me it was inside troble the linkage adjustment made no difference. Thay will talk with there JD rep and see what the next course of action will be. I live in farm country, were I no of only 2 compact tractors in a 60 mile radius, mine is one of them. Is it possible the mechanic is mistaken! He made it sound like alot of dollor's to repare, once they figure out what the problem is. ....

On Tractors the centering of the hydro is done externally or there is the ability to do it outside. If the problem is not external than it is internal. You have something that is loose and allowing it to float between forward and reverse. ....

My 855 had the creeping problem you described - it was straightforward to fix. If you have access to an 855 Technical Manual, see section 250-10-2. If you don't have access to a Tech Manual, send me an email with your FAX # and I'll FAX you this material. Good Luck! ....
