What is a fair price for a 5ft. Bush Hog Squealer with slip clutch? Also, which is better: the solid or laminated tire?

David I bought a used Bush Hog SQ60 2 weeks ago. It has a slip clutch & solid wheel, other than some rust from setting outside it is in very good shape. I paid $475.00 less tax. New ones like this sell for $695.00 Chris ....

David, Chris may be right about the price, but I had a dealer quote me $795 for the 5' one last Fall. I used to have a Bush Hog Squealer SQ48 (4') and it was a dandy, but last Fall I traded up in size and down in quality for a 5' Howse 500 that was priced new at $495. As for which tire is best; solid or laminated; I had the solid tire on the Bush Hog and now have the laminated on the Howse. From what I've seen, the "experts" seem to think the laminated is better, but I don't know why. I've never had a problem with either one. ....

Bird I should have stated that this price was from a farmer that sells Bush Hog & Woods equipment as a sideline. Regular equipment dealers in my area are $100.00 to $200.00 higher. Chris ....
