Looking at JD855. Has 170 hours asking $15,000. Has loader and 72" belly mower. Looks well maintained, very clean. Any opinions on this model tractor. I was looking at a new 4200 to 4400 JD but this sounded like a decent deal. Any advise on the selling price of this tractor. Thanks for any input!

Mark - I think $15,000 is in the ballpark for that Deere. I recently bought a used 855 with 140 hours including the loader and backhoe (no mower) for $17,500. Considering that the hoe is about $6,000 new and the mower about $3,000, your price seems about right, maybe just a tad ($500 or $1,000) on the high side. As far as the 855s go, they're fine machines but a little light on the PTO HP, I think it's 19.5 HP. ....

I've been pricing some my self,97 with 130hrs 4x4 turf's 6' mid mount & loader and dealer wants 17,500 out right (no trade) I think he is too high, sound's to me that you got a reasonable quote, for my area ....

Sounds high to me. I just missed out on a 96 855 with 230 hours with a front end loader and 60" belly mower for $10,500.00.

Sure sounds high to me. The 855 is a nice tractor, but I just had a quote of $11,500 for a 97 model w/ loader, great condition, 300 hours. ....
