I am looking for some information on the 700-900 series John Deere compact tractors. The new 4000 series is out of my price range. I have a 10 acre horse farm and I will be using the tractor handle the manure chores, post hole digging, dragging the arena, light grading, snow removal, carrying water/hay,etc. A front end loader is a must as well as hydro trans. I am looking for performance differences between these models and how they compare to the 4000 series. Can anyone point me to an information source?HarryW

Harry, the JD 790 and new 990 models are lower cost alternatives to the full feature 4000 series. Neither are available with a hydro trans though. Both are proven, solid tractors. Check the link below. This dealer has specs and pricing. ....
