Would like an estimate of what a 1987 JD 2555 tractor is worth. It is VERY clean with 2500 hours. It has a cab, 2WD, and dual hydrolics.

Nuc, JD farm tractors usually come standard with one set of aux. hydraulic quick connect outlets. They are lever controlled and can be used as either a full flow port to another valve setup or by itself to control a one-way hydraulic cylinder. If there are two such setups which work independently from each other, JD calls it "dual hydraulics. ....

What do these dual hydraulics do in JD-2555-tractor ? I think one might be used for controlling rear implements and the other front mounted implements. Is that true ? Or do these fullfil some other functions ? My belsrus Mtz-50 also has dual hydraulics speaking literally but nobody calls it that because the other hydraulic is a small one used only for power steering. Can the other hydraulic in JD-2555-tractor do any significant work ?

Yes. Typically they have the same capacity and control as the primary hydraulics....in fact, they are just another controlled outlet for the same pump. For your open center hydraulics you could do about the same thing by stringing another set of control valves in series with the existing one. ....

Does a tractor exist which has 2 hydraulic pumps of equal capacity ?
Having "another controlled outlet for the same pump" is no big deal. Belarus MTZ-50 comes standard with three, all 3 controlled by standard seperate levers, with an option for another making the total of 4 outlets for the same hydraulic pump. Valves are there for all three in the same distributor and space for the fourth one is plugged.

In response to the dual hyd pumps, David Brown and later Case had optional dual hyd(tandom) pumps. One was piped to the 3pt hitch and the other to the remote outlets. It was a handy feature.
