Peter, If I understand your question right, there are many brands of 3-point, PTO driven, post hole augers that you can use on a TC29. My cousin just bought a new TC29 with a Bush Hog post hole auger. ....

Things to look for in a post hole digger-
Gearbox size and construction (Heavy built)
Double flighted Auger
Multipoint digging head
Replaceable wear parts in digging head
We are a Bush Hog dealer and would be happy to quote one for you. You need to specify the auger size you are looking for. 9" or 12" is proably the most common. Contact us if you have further questions.

Al - how much did it cost? the $500 one at TSC seems cheezy to me, but no way in the world will the boss (aka wife) let me go the $1100 for a Kubota. Any in-the-middle brands out there?

Shear pins & post-diggers; the trick is to bore the holes when the ground is soft so that rocks move around a little to the side. Also pull the auger up several times to get the dirt out on the way down. Otherwise you can literally screw yourself into the ground and can`t lift it out and get bound in the hole. All of which is hard on the drive-line.I`ve had to get my BIG pipe wrench and back it out of the ground before I got the knack. ....
