Anyone have an issue of not being able to shift into reverse ? The shuttle lever moves into position but seems short in travel going into reverse. This just happened all of the sudden yesterday.

When your Kioti DK45 shuttle lever suddenly won't shift into reverse—even though the lever moves into position but feels like it has short travel—that typically points to a mechanical linkage issue or an internal shuttle shift problem. Here's a breakdown of what to check:

🔧 Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
1. Check the Shuttle Linkage at the Transmission
Remove the side panels or floor plate to access the shuttle shift linkage.

Have someone move the shuttle lever while you observe the movement at the transmission end.

Look for:

Loose set screws, worn bushings, or slop in the linkage.

A bent or obstructed rod.

A linkage arm that is slipping on its shaft.

🔍 If the lever moves fully in the cab but the arm at the transmission barely moves in reverse direction, it's likely a linkage issue.

2. Inspect the Shuttle Control Arm on the Transmission
On the DK45, the shuttle lever connects to a control arm or shaft on the transmission case.

That arm may have:

Stripped splines or set screw issues.

Worn pivot points that prevent full engagement.

3. Check for Internal Shuttle Shift Wear or Damage
If the linkage and arms all look good, and movement at the transmission still feels short going into reverse, you may be looking at an internal problem such as:

A broken detent spring or shift fork.

A worn or damaged shuttle gear selector.

In some cases, a loose shift fork rail bolt or a failed detent ball can prevent full gear engagement.

4. Hydraulic Shuttle?
If your DK45 has a hydraulic power shuttle instead of a purely mechanical shuttle:

Check hydraulic fluid level and quality.

Look for error codes if your dash supports them.

There may be a solenoid or valve that isn’t engaging reverse properly.

✅ Common Fixes (Based on Similar Issues from Owners)
Tighten or replace worn linkage parts.

Re-align or replace shuttle shift control arm on transmission.

If internal: remove top transmission cover and inspect shuttle fork.

🛠 Recommendations
Start with a visual inspection of the external linkage.

If that’s intact, next step is removing the transmission side cover (if accessible) or top cover to inspect the internal shift rail/fork.

If it's a power shuttle, test pressure or consult a shop manual. ....
