My older model Shibaura SD1800 has two controls for the PTO. A large lever on lower left side seems to control the PTO speed (down for slow, middle neutral, up for fast). A smaller lever in front of that seems to engage it also. The forward and aft positions engage the PTO, but do not appear to vary the speed. Middle position is neutral. Does anybody know the proper function of the smaller lever?
Thanks!

Hello,
This lever in front shhould normally have 2 neutral positions, and 3 speed postions. These mixed with the slow and fast lever give you six output rpm ranging from a little bit lower than 500rpm up to a little more than 1100rpm. I will take note of exact speed and send you it next week.

Scott,

As stated in my 04 may 06 posting, here are the different speed you can have on your SD1800.
The lever in LH side of your seat has 3 positions : High, neutral and low. In front of this one, there is another lever who should have five positions : from aft to fwd 3, N, 1, N and 2.
1 low gives 492rpm
1 high gives 588 rpm
2 low gives 699 rpm
2 high gives 834 rpm
3 low gives 937 rpm
3 high gives 1192 rpm

These PTO outputs rpm are on 2500 rpm engine rate.

I enjoy this tractor, unfortunately I have no technical, service or part manuals. Do you have any or do you know where I can find some ?

....
