I think diesel only lasts about 1 year before it starts to separate and gel up. I put fuel stabilizer in it to help prevent that. I don't know the nemae of it, but it is red and sold at any auto parts store. It is also not expensive. ....

The answer is highly variable. It depends on the quality of fuel when you bought it.In general one year without stabilizer has been a standard answer I received.It can easily be stabilized for much longer. The best stuff I have found is PRI-D.See the web page below. Would also check out info from Chevron, and "The Juice Page"(http://agitator.dynip.com/agitator/juice_page.htm)Also a good source on info can be had from "PowerList Online: Energy Independence for the New Millennium"(http://www.skylarfund.com/). They are comming from a diesel generator point of view however good clean diesel principles should apply also to tractors.David Robinson ....

I have stored it for six months with the addition of a stabilizer (Stabil) ....
