Don't know why me, but this is another message I can't respond to. Best choices for the problem are the starter relay, the starter switch, repay and starter wiring and safety switch. I don't know if the 1715 has a safety switch for both the transmission and PTO, but the safety switches are good candidates for creating the problem. Good luck with finding the problem. It's a little hard to work on electrical problems without a wiring diagram--hope you've got one. I have one for 1710's, but I don't know how similar it is to the 1715. Best hope is for a simple oversight like the PTO was left engaged.
