I,m lookin to build a little faster lawn mower. Now I,ve done the basic stuff but i was just wondering if anybody knows a high perfromance sparkplug like split fire or something. It takes a regular Champion J19LM. Any help would be great.

Could be wrong, but I never thought of spark plugs as performance devices. However, I believe that sticking with the right heat range plug is important. Too cold and the plug fouls. Too hot and it may melt holes in the piston. Years ago, I sometimes put hotter plugs in my motorcycle if I was going to lug around town for a month or so and switch back to regular plugs for the highway.
Guess you're clear on whether the mower speed is limited due to a lack of power or due to the engine governor. Far as I remember, the easiest and cheapest way to get more power out of a gas engine is milling the head or block. Of course, too much milling, and the valve starts hitting things or makes hot spots. Anyway, there always seems to be people selling something that are supposed to increase performance. Often they don't do much except cost more. ....

I Forgot: In terms of tinkering stuff: A thinner head gasget is sort of like a small milling job. If you could find one it would do a little but would also be more prone to blow. ....
