Massey Ferguson 240 is a great tractor and has about 60 to 70 percent of market share inPAKISTAN. Its locally made by Millat tractor Ltd. in its Lahore factory, and now it costsRs.315,000.I own one which i bought brand new last year, it has served me well so far. I have not yet tried torun a standard wheat thresher with its PTO but i have heard that its engine gives up after only oneseason.Also its hydroulic works well but does not work as advertised that according to Millat tractors it canraise and lower a cultivator without opertor intervention, which is simply not true.Also its brakes are bullshit. The Millat tractor's dealer form whom i bought the tractor (PakistanZaree industries) acknowldged this problem and fixed it but newer ones are still being made withuseless brakes, why ?Older model 240 used to good seats with one large spring underneath it but now seats are too hardand drivers butts get sore after driving mf240 all day.Why a towbar for pulling a trolley is not standard equipment in mf240 ?Do Massey Ferguson or Millat tractors care enough about their customers to answer the abovegrevinces ?Nuclear_Weapon7.Nuclear_Weapon7@Hotmail.com.

In older MF 240 front suitcase weights used to availble from millat at extra or no cost but they are not sold now. WHY ?

Its been 2 years since I bought MF 240 but even today newer ones are being made with useless brakes and seats. I have paid about Rs.2000 to get the seat fixed. The mechanic has installed 2 springs and 2 honda CD70 motorcyle's shock absorbers underneath it and ride has become bearable. Why couldn't millat do the same and add the cost to the price which is I think still Rs.315,000. It should cost a lot less then Rs.2000 when they buy these components in bulk.

Why MF 240 does not have a direct hydraulic pump ? It has 2 clutches one for main transmission and other for PTO and hydraulic. When you press the clutch pedal halfway down the main clutch is disengaged and when you press it 3/4 down the other clutch is also disengaged. Its good to have a seperate clutch for PTO but why the hydraulic pump is also connected to it ?

In older model MF 240 there used to a 2 speed PTO, but its only a single speed PTO in current model. Why ?
