I'm looking to buy a new BX2230. Is that really big enough to handle heavy snow with it's snowblower? I think 22 is, but have always plowed and don't know for sure. Also, you have to have a trailer to tow it, right?...won't fit in the back of a pickup? Thanks

Julie,

I have had my BX2200 with 50" front mount snowblower and 48" boxblade for about 8 months now. Before that I used a 30 year old 14HP Ariens with blower. Even the Ariens would clear 12" of new snow off my 300' paved driveway. The Kubota doesn't even break a sweat. The box blade will scrape everything clean, to boot. In short, as a now removal tool, it's lethal. ....

Your BX (without any attachments) will physically fit into a pickup bed, and at about 3/4 ton should not overload a typical full size truck, but you have to consider how you are going to load it. The tailgate is not designed for that kind of weight and it certainly would not be wise to park the tractor on the tailgate once it is up there (as you would have to in a short box truck). The best place for it is on a trailer. Just borrow one or rent one if you don't have a need to own a trailer. ....

To get a single axle trailer with the landscaper rear would work. Try a 12' or 14' foot deck. Beaver tails are nice as it gives you less slope to drive up and a 1/2 ton pickup can pull it. ....
