I got a new BX2750A Snow Blower for my BX22. I love it, but! I keep shearing shear bolts. 3 on one side and one on the other. Am I doing something wrong? We only had a few inches of snow, but some ice as well.

It doesn't take much of a stone or branch to shear a pin. Is your area clear? Other than that, advance SLOWLY so the chute doesn't plug. If the snow is really wet, you very well may have problems. Be really careful if you have to clear the chute/auger. Turn everything off, and only use a tool, not your hand. Things can spin pretty fast when you release the pressure. Ice tends to bog things down, high PTO and slow ground speeds may help. I haven't had very good luck with the slush that remained after our December storms. Luckily it mostly all melted.

Shearing shear bolts is a good thing, as you didn't break any parts! There must be something going thru that is causing it to shear them. If you have a gravel drive that could cause it. If the road you live onor by has stones they could be put in your yard by the plows. ....

Thanks all, No just assault. I connacted my dealer, who thought it should not happen that easy as well. They are going to pickup my tactor and look at it tomorrow. ....

I don't understand the description about 3 bolts one side and one on the other, but then I don't know the blower either. My blower has one pin on the pto shaft.
I think it would be good for you or the dealer to verify the grade of pin(s) that are supposed to be there. Not all applications use grade-2 bolts. Something could have happened such as the pin is supposed to be dealer supplied during set up and somebody just assumed a grade-2 bolt was right.
When I break pins on my blower I definitely know I've caught something in the auger and I usually find it. It's not uncommon for me to take in some gravel before freeze-up or from birms the highway plows leave. I've made some pretty good gravel showers without breaking a pin. The dealer likely will come up with something because the description doesn't sound like something that should be happening. ....
