I'm in Northern California, and it seems that all of the tractor activity is nowhere near me. I'm narrowing in on something in the 30hp range, and I'm looking at a Kubota 3130 w/HST & FEL, 100 hours, asking $17K. Sure seems high. Is it?
I really want a backhoe, so what can I expect to pay for that? Do I just go to a dealer and shell out the big bucks for a new name brand backhoe, or does there exist any sort of third party product or used market I should be considering?
I guess I want it all -- a good price, a used machine in good condition which won't be a maintenance headache, and I don't want to spend all my time aimlessly wandering the internet or hoping that my local dealer (who has not impressed me)will provide facts in lieu of his generalizations or guesses.
Any help? Where do I go for that deal I'm seeking?
Thanks!
Doug

Compared to new the price isn't bad and you could add the newer full frame mount backhoe from Kubota which is about as good as it gets. ....
