Just wanted to get a poll of which users would choose... The M7800 or the L3400 both with FEL. Have 3.5 Ac land and would like to maintain field, muclh beds, move rocks (large) as well as possibly do finish mowing and snow plowing. Thanks for comments.

You must be refering to a B-7800 and for the size lot, I'd be centering on the 7800 not to say that the 3400 couldn't out work one. The front mounted option of the 7800 for a snow blower or belly mower might make a difference of versatility. ....

Ooops... right the B7800. Is there a significant difference between a 30hp and 35hp. My neighbor recommended a 35hp because it would allow me to do more and add more pieces later on. BTW, price difference would be $1150 more for L3400. ....

There is a big difference in weight between the two. B7800: 1740 lbs, L3400: 2600 lbs (cast iron vs. aluminum) If you need the pulling power, go for the L3400. If you need a lighter machine that won't tear up the yard as much, go for the B7800.

Trading down is normally most costly. I'd look if that would be the choice or to sell it outright. ....

I too chose the L3400 (gear) over the B7800. In my situation the L was about $1200 cheaper.

Got it delivered last night! Played for about 10 minutes. Now I'm happy I got the larger model, though I can't really compare it to the 7800. Looking forward to more time on it today. ....
